Welcome to the tenth module of LUNA! By this point, you have put in a ton of hard work, and it’s possible that your child has made significant progress on their plan of action. If your child has made improvements on one of their fears, and they feel ready to tackle a new one, then this module may be helpful for you!
In this module, we will talk about how to successfully work on more than one plan of action, and how to manage multiple plans at once. There are a couple of different reasons why you may consider working on more than one plan of action at a time. If your child has been working on the same plan all through LUNA, if they feel ready to start working on a new anxiety, or if they have a fear or worry that has started causing more problems recently, then it may be time for a new plan of action!
We will also discuss some tips for keeping your child motivated and organized, as well as some ways that you can manage potential challenges, like oppositional (uncooperative or combative) behavior.
Things to Remember
Just like with the other supplemental modules, if you and your child feel that this module is not relevant for you, then feel free to move on to a different one. We want you to get the most out of LUNA, so please work on the supplemental modules (modules 8 through 11) as you see fit! Be sure to discuss this with your child, as it is important that you both read the same modules each week.
No matter which module you decide to read, it’s important that your child continues to work on their current plan(s) of action by completing exposure activities. They should be making some progress on their plan of action every week. Remember, for each new week, you and your child should create a new schedule using the Weekly Practice Plan worksheet. You can create this schedule based on a new plan of action, or you can continue working on the same plan from the previous week(s). If needed, you can always re-read Module 4 to create a new plan.
