What's Covered in Module 4

Content

This week, you will learn how to help your child face their fears by creating what we call a “mission plan.” This week contains a lot of new concepts and activities, so take your time working through the material to be sure you understand all the information provided.

This module will take about 45 minutes - 1 hour to complete readings, watch videos, and do activities this week. We encourage you to take breaks and come back to the material as much as you need.

Previously on LUNA…

Since beginning LUNA, you and your child have learned about anxiety, set specific and measurable goals for the program, measured anxiety with the “anxiety scale,” and developed a rewards plan to increase motivation. You also learned about and practiced different coping skills, or ways your child can lower their anxiety rating. You also learned that these skills would help your child prepare to face their fears.

Anxiety is Normal

As we mentioned earlier, anxiety is a normal emotion that is vital to our survival. The goal of this program is to help your child feel less anxious in situations that are not actually dangerous so that their anxiety isn’t holding them back.

Remember the anxiety scale from Week 2? We will use it again this week to gauge levels of anxiety.
