Congratulations! You just finished Module 12, the last module of LUNA. Give yourself and your child a high five, as both of you put a lot of effort into this journey. Well done!
This week, we have talked about how to reflect on progress on your own and with your child. Taking time and reflecting on what you’ve done is very important – you can celebrate the things you did well and identify the areas you would like to improve on. We have also talked about how to plan for the future, review anxiety flares and what to do when your child begins to have new fears.
Below are some summary points to take away:
- Take some time to think about all you and your child have accomplished! Also think about what helped you make progress with managing anxiety.
- The habits you have developed through from LUNA are now with you. You can keep using them to manage any new fears and worries in the future.
- Planning for the future is as important as working on the mission plans.
- Identify any fears and worries that you and your child would like to keep working on, and plan for how to tackle them.
- Anxiety flares can help you figure out new sources of anxiety for your child. These flares could be behaviors, thoughts or feelings.
- It is natural for anxiety to escalate again. If this happens, don’t get discouraged. The skills you and your child learned through LUNA will help you manage the new fears and worries.
Over the next week:
Now that you have finished LUNA, make sure to celebrate and keep practicing mission plans!
