About the Office of Research IT
The Office of Research IT (ORIT) provides a broad range of data systems, resources, and services to support the research and data needs of basic, clinical and translational investigators at Baylor College of Medicine and its affiliate institutions.
Major Goals
The major goals of the ORIT are to:
- Provide data systems and tools for management and conduct of clinical trials
- Design, build and maintain data systems for patient registries, research collaboratives and biobanks/tissue banks
- Design and develop reports for research study staff, sponsors and Data Safety Monitoring Boards (DSMB)
- Design and develop apps (support both iOS and Android platforms), auxiliary tools and systems to automate work flow and data driven processes
