Congratulations! You just finished Module 6
Congratulations on finishing Module 6! This week, you’ve learned ways to reflect after completing a mission plan practice session. This reflection will be useful to your child as they go onto more difficult steps on their mission plans. Here are some points to keep in mind:
- There are two most common types of thinking errors: 1) overestimating the likelihood of an unpleasant event happening, and 2) overestimating how bad it will be if an unpleasant event does happen.
- Doing mission plans can help your child test these thinking errors and overcome their unhelpful thoughts.
- After practicing a step in the mission plan, discuss with your child and help them reflect on the thinking errors they may have had before the practice.
- It is also important for you to reflect on how you have been managing the mission plans.
- Practicing mission plan steps is difficult, but remember that you are already doing great by just trying!
Over the next week:
- Keep practicing the steps in your child's first mission plan.
- Make sure to track your practice in your child's practice log.
- If you and your child are ready, create a new mission plan for another fear.
