The first thing we must do is figure out what your fears and worries are! Some fears may be easy to think about, but there may be other worries in your life that cause problems in your life that you might not know about.
Here are Sally and Neil’s list of worries:
Sally's list of worries
- Stuff that makes loud noises
- Germs
- Public restrooms
- Being made fun of
- Answering or asking questions in class
- Attention
- Speaking to other kids
Neil's list of worries
- Dark
- Vegetables
- Not knowing what will happen in the future
- Change
- Being away from my parents or something bad happening to them
- Getting lost
- Sleepovers
Now, take some time with your parent to think about what fears and worries are impacting you right now. With your parent, make a checklist of all your fears and worries that you can think of using this Fears and Worries Checklist [Download link: Fears and Worries Checklist (Child).pdf] worksheet. You can check a box next to each fear and write in any that aren’t included on the list where it says “other.”
