Congratulations! You have finished the third module of LUNA!
This week, we talked about many different ways that you can cope with anxiety. Finding coping skills that will work for you can take time, so feel free to come back to this week so that you can keep practicing. Below are some summary points to keep in mind as you practice coping skills:
- Knowing when we are anxious is important because it lets us know when we need to use coping skills.
- Coping skills can help us feel calm. Find skills that work for you that can be used to relax when you are not in a scary situation (e.g., reading, drawing), as well as those that can be used when you face situations that cause anxiety (e.g., deep breathing, having a fidget toy, 5-4-3-2-1).
- Coping skills should be used to help you face your fears.
Over the next week, make sure you remember to:
- Practice the two coping skills you identified on the Choosing Your Coping Tools worksheet. Try your best to find a time when you can practice each day. Use the Coping Skills Tracking Form to keep track of your practice.
- You can earn rewards for practicing coping skills.
