Eleonora Bartoli
Eleonora obtained her Ph.D. in Robotics, Cognition and Interaction Technology from the Italian Institute of Technology. She moved to Houston “just for a few years” to further develop her interest in human electrophysiology and brain stimulation and ended up finding her home at Baylor College of Medicine and starting a lab in the Department of Neurosurgery. She is also Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University.
Neuroscience apart, she loves climbing (although Texas makes that difficult), visiting National Parks (she would like to see them all) and photography (mainly of her cats, but she is open to other critters too).
Ryan Jafri
Ryan Jafri is a rising sophomore at the University of Houston pursing a degree in public health. He is intrigued by neuroscience and uses his car rides to listen to the Huberman Lab podcasts. In his free time Ryan likes to play basketball, play chess, and cook.
Jung Uk Kang
In 2023, I received my PhD in neuroscience at Washington University School of Medicine after completing my thesis research on the role of inter-areal communication in macaque posterior parietal cortex in motor coordination. In 2024, I joined the lab of Dr. Sameer Sheth at Baylor College of Medicine, and I collaborate with Dr. Eleonora Bartoli and Dr. Benjamin Hayden. I currently work on a human neurophysiology project studying the role of communication across different brain areas in motor inhibition. This work has implications in inhibition control in health and disease, and could be extended to clinical care for psychiatric disorders such as addiction, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Geoffrey Liu
Hi, I'm Geoffrey, a sophomore at Dawson High School in Pearland. I have a passion for coding and solving diverse problems with efficient algorithms. I'm particularly intrigued by the integration of brain function into AI.
In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, reading comics, and playing video games.
Layth Mattar
Layth completed his undergraduate degree in Biology and Arabic at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active by any means, cooking, learning more about the world around him, and trying to teach himself chess and the piano.
Sanath Muralidhara
Sanath is an undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and doing summer research activity in the lab. He is passionate about robotics and technology and is excited to bring his drive and work ethic. In my spare time, I like watching Netflix, listening to music, and playing sports.
Davin Devara
Davin is a medical student who has completed his 3rd year at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, TX. He obtained a B.S.A in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin. He is currently taking a research gap year to explore functional neuroscience. Davin plans to pursue neurosurgery residency after graduation. Outside of academia, he enjoys traveling, sampling different cusines, and all things related to capybaras.
