HPV-Related Oropharyngeal Cancer Screening and Monitoring Through Remote Self-Sampling (H-54917)

Description

Content

Through this research study, individuals ages 45-69 may qualify for a free cancer screening, not yet available to the public. Have questions? Complete the form below and we will reach out to you.

Your Involvement

After consent, you can expect to complete a questionnaire, provide a blood, urine, and mouthwash/saliva sample.

If you are identified to be at possible high risk for HPV-related throat cancer, you will be offered an in-person throat cancer screening, a neck ultrasound, and a possible PET-CT scan. Additionally, you will be offered a one-time anal screening exam and a cervical or penile exam.

About the Study

HPV-related throat cancer is on the rise, and by the time symptoms appear, the cancer has already spread in about 80% of cases. The TEJAS study is working to establish early screening methods to identify cancer earlier, before it requires treatment with life-long side effects.
