Imaging AMPA Receptors In PTSD: A Pilot Positron Emission Tomography Study (H-49839)
Description
PTSD is a debilitating condition with poorly understood physiology. Through the use of medical imaging, we seek to visualize AMPA receptor density and distribution throughout the brain in people with and without a diagnosis of PTSD, in order to determine its role in the development and persistence of the disorder. A deeper understanding of the biology underlying PTSD may provide new avenues for drug development, improve treatment outcomes, and relieve suffering of those afflicted.
