Microbiome Focused Molecular Investigations in Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (H-43759)

Description

Content

The purpose of this research study is to determine whether there are any microbiome associations in children with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and ulcerative colitis (UC) and compare them to healthy children. We would need to collect stool and saliva samples five times over a one-year period. The samples can be collected in the convenience of your home and mailed back using a pre-paid shipping package. Along with each sample collection, participants will also be asked to complete a brief questionnaire that asks about their feelings and thoughts. Eligible participants must be fluent in English, between the ages of 10-18, healthy as declared by their pediatrician, and not be taking any medications, including antibiotics or hormonal birth control, for at least six months prior to participation.
