Content

Our residency offers the opportunity for residents who envision robotic surgery as part of their future practice to become daVinci (Xi) Robot Certified.

This curriculum includes:

  • Completion of the online daVinci system online training modules
  • In person hands-on in-service with a daVinci representative
  • Completion of modules on the daVinci simulator
  • Collection of cases (10 bedside assist, 20 primary surgeon)

Additionally, four-hour long simulation “boot camps” will be offered at least semi-annually throughout four years of residency, as well as the opportunity to participate in a Houston wide gynecology simulation session in the third and fourth years of training.

At the conclusion of residency training, if all the requirements are met, the resident will receive a daVinci System Training Equivalency Certificate, which can be submitted as proof of proficiency when applying for hospital privileges.
