Mathew McGinley Delivers Talk
March 7, 2019 - Dr. McGinley delivered a talk at the French-American Innovation Days. This event is organized since 2001 by the Office for Science and Technology of the Embassy of France in the United States. FAID brings together prominent American and French experts to discuss innovation topics in order to foster transatlantic connections in research and innovation. Organized at the Texas Medical Center Innovation Institute, the 2019 FAID conference focused on Computer-Assisted Surgery & 3D Visualization Tools, and AI & Machine-Learning in Medical Imagery and Healthcare. Matt presented how the lab seeks to achieve closed-loop control of brain activity to enhance cognition by developing novel brain-interface devices, such as vagus nerve simulators (VNS) and non-invasive wearable biosensors of autonomic arousal state, and validating their ability to enhance learning and attention.
