Professional Statement
I graduated from Tulane University in 2021 with a major in Psychology and minor in Cellular and Molecular Biology. During my time at Tulane University, I combined my passion for fitness and empowering others by assisting in founding CHAARG, an organization that promotes health and wellness through weekly workouts. Later, I interned at the Max Cure Foundation, a non-profit that provides financial support and advocacy for low-income, military, and first responder families during their fight against childhood cancer. Working at the Max Cure Foundation solidified my commitment to helping others in a healthcare setting.Following graduation, I began my role as a Genetic Testing Coordinator (GTC) at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In this role, I assisted patients under the mentorship of genetic counselors and met individually with patients through RAPID Access Cancer Genetics, a program run by GTCs to help patients who meet pre-established criteria get faster access to genetic testing. My experience at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute reaffirmed my passion for this field. To inspire others in this field, I assisted in founding Future Genetic Counselors (FGC), an organization dedicated to raising awareness of genetic counseling through fostering young professional relationships. I hope to be the voice that educates others about the profession and supports prospective students in becoming the next generation of genetic counselors.
