Professional Statement
Sports are a great way for kids to be active and learn life skills. They offer a fun learning environment and often are a top priority in a child’s life. This importance, along with the multitude of people involved, from coaches and teammates to trainers and parents, often creates unique challenges when injuries occur. My approach to medicine is to really get to know the patient and family so that we can work towards a common goal, which most often is getting the athlete back to the activities they love as quickly and safely as possible. However, it is important to not only treat the problem, but also dig deeper into the reason for the injury to help it not occur again. It is a privilege working with the excellent team in Austin to improve the lives of families in this community.
