Professional Statement

Perel A Baral, D.O., assistant professor in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, specializes in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, especially multi-arterial coronary bypass grafting, aortic valve disease and mitral valve repair and replacement. She is passionate about caring for underserved populations and enthusiastic about surgical education. She attended medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and completed general surgery training at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She then completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Texas Heart Institute and joins our Department as faculty at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.
