Professional Statement
Dr. Pavan Reddy has a long-standing interest in cellular molecular immunology, metabolism, in vivo animal models, human sample analysis and clinical hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) for blood diseases. His lab has contributed to the fundamental understanding of immunology, the biology of graft-versus-host disease, and has successfully translated laboratory observations into proof-of-concept human trials following HCT. His work provided seminal insights into the role of target tissue resilience in mitigating GVHD, the role of non-coding RNAs and intracellular trafficking mechanisms in T cells and led to clinical translation of five distinct and novel approaches in prevention and treatment of GVHD, which are now being studied in randomized national trials. His research has been funded for over a decade with multiple NIH and other peer reviewed grants. As the director of the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center, his major focus has been on promoting access, community engagement, and transdisciplinary research.Selected Publications
