Professional Statement

I am a board-certified Pediatric hospitalist with 10 years’ experience working at the largest children’s hospital in the United States. I spend part of my time providing direct patient care to hospitalized children while supervising and educating pediatric fellows, residents, and medical students. The rest of my time is spent working in technology as the Associate Medical Information Officer: Data Operations and User Engagement. I am actively engaged in leading technology within my division of PHM by building new notes templates, helping with dashboard build and providing direct education on EHR efficiency. Within the organization I help to direct technology by partnering with Information Services, Quality and Nursing informatics on many committees. I am working to develop an organizational strategy for data literacy. I also am actively engaged in building within Epic as a certified physician builder and am on the national Epic hospitalist steering board. My primary research interests include application of technology in sepsis care and the use of the EHR in simulation education. I am passionate about teaching individuals to leverage technology to improve their workflows and spend less time with the EHR and more time at the bedside. My primary goal is to strive to utilize technology to improve the care of hospitalized children and women through smart implementation, collaborative, and education.
