Professional Statement
DNA-encoded chemical libraries (DECLs) are promising tools in drug discovery. DECL technology allows the synthesis and screening of chemical libraries of unprecedented size at moderate costs. I am fortunate to have joined a team that can generate up to 100 million different DNA-tagged molecules in a single tube. Such a mixture can be used to target specific recombinant proteins of interest. Any molecular entities that bind with a target protein can be identified thanks to their DNA barcodes. Down-stream analyses using our modern biophysical tools such as SPR, ITC, NMR, and many others help validate a “hit”, and may lead to new drug candidates, or answer basic biological questions.Selected Publications
