Professional Statement
My research has been focused on the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) using genetic and biochemical approaches. My past studies on the patho-physiological functions of APP have revealed the roles of APP in the regulation of GABAergic neurons, adult neurogenesis, synaptogenesis, and slit-robo signaling pathways, through analyzing transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease and APP knockout mice. My current research projects are aimed to understand the lysosome pathways, particularly TFEB-Vacuolar ATPase signaling, in regulating immune responses and Tau pathology in Alzheimer’s disease through novel approaches.
