Professional Statement
I am a clinical psychologist and assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine. My research and clinical interests are in the assessment and treatment of children and adults with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, mood, and related disorders. I also provide therapy and supervise trainees in the BCM OCD and Mood Disorders Programs in Baylor Psychiatry Clinic.Websites

- Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine-Stepped Care Program (02/01/2021 - 08/31/2023) Grant funding from Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board
- The Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine Program (TCHATT) is a statewide effort that was developed to increase access to brief mental health services to Texan students via telehealth. The stepped care program expands on this initiative and has two primary aims: 1) to coordinate the delivery of evidence-based therapy for students with anxiety and depressive disorders across Texas health research institutions participating in TCHATT, and 2) to use a measurement-based approach to guide treatment intensity.
- A stakeholder-informed, large-scale study of the impact of misophonia on children and families (10/01/2021 - 09/30/2023) Grant funding from The Milken Institute/Ream Foundation/Misophonia Research Fund
- This mixed-methods study aims to study the phenomenology, functional impact, and longitudinal course of misophonia (severe sound sensitivity) in children affected by this disorder and their families.
- Internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) for anxiety in youth ASD: A novel model to improve access to treatment - #22971 (05/18/2020 - 05/17/2023) Grant funding from Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board
- Through this project, we are developing a stakeholder-informed Internet-based cognitive-behavioral therapy program for youth with co-occuring anxiety and autism spectrum disorders. We are also testing this program in a randomized clinical trial.
- Texas Child Trauma Research Network Grant funding from Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board
- The Texas Child Trauma Research Network TX-CTRN) is part of the research initiative in the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium, which is comprised of 12 health research institutes across the state. The goals of this longitudinal cohort study are to develop a interconnected network of trauma research in the state and develop models of risk and resilience in youth exposed to trauma.
