Professional Statement

Dr. Abirami Srivarathan is postdoctoral associate at Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety (IQuESt), Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Section of Health Services Research, Baylor College of Medicine. She received her graduate and postgraduate training in public health science and epidemiology from University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Dr. Srivarathan has several years of experience in implementation science. She has implemented and evaluated a variety of community-based health promotion interventions among local populations in Denmark and Sri Lanka. Dr. Srivarathan has a strong methodological training in quantitative and qualitative methods including developing survey questionnaires, analyzing register-based data, and conducting ethnography. Dr. Srivarathan centers her work on patients, family members and caregivers to understand their needs and preferences.
