- Ciliopathies are a group of diseases caused by defects in the cilia and lead to syndromic diseases affecting multiple organs, including the eye. This proposal will investigate the role for a ciliopathy protein that is associated with multiple ciliopathies and blindness in humans. The completion of the proposed work is important for the identification of novel therapeutic approaches and will lay the foundation for the successful completion of clinical trials that will help patients around the world.
