Toni Gray to direct Title IX and disability services

Toni Gray has been named director of Title IX and Disability Services in the Office of Community Engagement & Health Equity at Baylor College of Medicine. Gray started in her new role at Baylor on May 26.

Title IX refers to the section of the Higher Education Amendments Act of 1972 that prohibits discrimination based on sex, including sexual harassment, sexual violence and gender-based harassment, in education programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance.

“The role of Title IX and disability services director is a very important one at Baylor College of Medicine,” said Dr. Paul Klotman, president, CEO and executive dean. “We’re excited to have Toni Gray on our team to lead our commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for all community members, guests and visitors.”

Gray joins Baylor College of Medicine from Texas Southern University, where she served in several roles during her tenure, including Title IX coordinator, deputy Title IX coordinator and senior employee relations specialist. While at TSU, she also provided disability services and investigated ADA complaints.

“Both the Title IX and disability services programs are essential to providing excellent quality and service to not only to our learners but to all of the BCM community,” Gray said. “It is my pleasure and honor to provide my knowledge and skills to BCM.”

Prior to TSU, Gray worked at UTHealth, Houston Community College and Prairie View A&M University. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University and a Master’s of Science in Law, Human Relations and Organizational Development from Champlain College.
