Drs. Mathison and Rosengart Awarded MacDonald Research Funding

Dr. Megumi Mathison and Dr. Todd K. Rosengart have received funding from the Roderick D. MacDonald Research Fund for their project “Activation of ORL1, nociception receptor, inhibits heart failure progression.” Investigators aim to determine whether ORL1 activation prevents heart failure in long-term follow-up after myocardial infarction in rats, providing proof of concept that an ORL1 activator may be an effective treatment for heart failure in patients who suffer from myocardial ischemia.
