Dr. Mondal Receives 2024 CVRI Pilot Award
Nandan Kumar Mondal M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Transplantation and Circulatory Support, has been awarded the 2024 Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) Pilot Award for his collaborative research titled, “Untargeted Metabolomics of Urine Exosome and Kidney Dysfunction in LVAD Patients,” This award provided financial support of $25,000.00 to conduct the proposed study over a period of one year.
The CVRI Pilot Award aims to foster impactful collaborative cardiovascular research projects. In this research project, Dr. Mondal, along with Carl P. Walther, M.D., M.S. (Department of Medicine) plans to carry out a non-invasive, precision medicine molecular approach to study kidney health in a complex cardiorenal disease space.
