Baylor College of Medicine recognized for superior educational fundraising

Baylor College of Medicine’s Office of Development and Alumni Affairs has been recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) as one of the top fundraising programs in higher education and will receive a 2013 CASE Educational Fundraising Award.

BCM is one of 35 schools to receive an Overall Performance Award based on three years of fundraising data collected from approximately 1,000 higher education institutions across the nation.

BCM’s Office of Development raises funds to support the College’s strategic growth initiatives in healthcare, research and education.

"This CASE Award honors the hard work and dedication of our Board of Trustees and volunteers as we conclude our campaign and near our goal for opening the Baylor College of Medicine Medical Center at the McNair Campus," said Kristi Cooper, vice president of development at BCM.

"I’m proud of what Baylor is accomplishing for Houston," said campaign chair and trustee Corbin J. Robertson, Jr. "Moreover, our generous donors appreciate that we are being transparent, accountable and true to our mission."

BCM recently was recognized as an accredited charity by the Better Business Bureau for meeting its 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.

Other CASE Overall Performance winners among research/doctoral and professional institutions include Brown University, Harvard University, Stanford University, Yale University, University of California - Berkeley and Santa Barbara, University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
