Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Identify and describe the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of diseases and injuries leading to the development of physical and cognitive disabilities.
- Describe and evaluate physical medicine and rehabilitation methods and modalities used in treating individuals with injuries, diseases, and disabilities.
- Identify techniques for risk factor modification, diagnosis, and treatment of predictable medical complications for individuals with disabilities.
- Describe the state-of-the-art clinical practice of physiatry based on current research in physical medicine and rehabilitation and associated fields.
Educational Methods
Lectures, case presentations, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, audiovisual presentations, syllabus, mock written and oral examinations.
