Division Overview
The Division of Pediatric Rheumatology integrates state-of-the-art clinical care in rheumatologic diseases with cutting-edge research into the underlying immune-mediated mechanisms.
Pediatric Rheumatology Service
- Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment for pediatric patients with rheumatic diseases.
- Treats diseases such as juvenile arthritis, JDMS, SLE, Sjögren's syndrome, scleroderma, Kawasaki disease, systemic vasculitides, acute rheumatic fever, pain amplification syndromes, skeletal abnormalities, and auto-inflammatory disorders.
- Provides an ACGME-accredited fellowship program.
- Maintains clinical and basic science research in pediatric rheumatology.
Division Research
Innovative approaches to developing novel and specifically targeted clinical therapies for rheumatologic diseases is the primary mission of research conducted among both clinical and research faculty and staff within the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology.
Rheumatology
The Division of Pediatric Rheumatology participates in international and North American registries of vasculitides and inflammatory brain diseases. Members of the section are involved in multiple collaborative national projects through the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance. Institutional projects include health services and lupus outcomes research.
