Transcriptome sequencing

Item Definition

Transcriptome sequencing is a genetic test that provides complementary results to DNA sequencing. It assesses gene expression status on a transcriptome level, which offers functional evidence to clarify the significance of DNA variants. Analysis of transcriptome data can also reveal molecular diagnostic findings that are not evident from analyzing DNA results alone.
