The Clinical and Translational Research Hub is focused is on developing IRB approved umbrella protocols for adults, pregnant women, and children for sample collection, defining clinical outcomes of disease, and epidemiology.
During the two-year start-up phase a clinical research team will focus on writing the IRB approved umbrella protocols. One to two of these IRB approved protocols will be implemented as a pilot project to develop infrastructure, collect samples for the biorepository, and address a research topic with clinical significance.
Having IRB approved umbrella protocols and maintaining infrastructure by conducting pilot projects will help ensure a rapid clinical research response to a pathogen with pandemic potential that targets any age group from infants to pregnant women to older adults.
