The transition to adulthood is hard for all teens and young women (and their parents)! When you add in a mobility impairment and special medical needs, this time can be overwhelming. Many of our community advisors and several staff members at CROWD have gone through this difficult time and are here to offer advice! We also have several medical advisors who run a Transition Medical Clinic devoted to helping teens and young women, along with their families, navigate the transition from pediatric to adult medical care.
The Transition Medicine Clinic at Baylor College of Medicine assists teens and young adults with a chronic childhood illness or disability in their transition to adulthood. Learn more about their services on their website.
