The Hall of Fame of the Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery recognizes former and current faculty members, residents, and/or fellows from our department at Baylor College of Medicine who have achieved great stature in the specialty. It serves not only to recognize their accomplishments but also to provide a visible inspiration for the medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty who are here now or who will be in future years. The Inaugural Class was selected by Dr. Alford. In 2022 the department leadership recognized a new group of individuals who have distinguished themselves as leaders in our specialty and serve as role models for future generations of otolaryngologists. Clinical and Research Interests
Primary focus is oncology treatment outcomes, measurement and determinants of successful care outcomes. Oncology care outcomes include quality of life, functional status, costs and treatment compliance, and success determinants include access to care, gender, race, and health literacy. Her validated dysphagia instrument, the MD Anderson Dysphagia inventory has been translated into over a dozen languages and is used in multiple cooperative oncology trials internationally. Primary clinical focus is head and neck endocrine surgery.
