Theme: When Medicine Becomes Political

Overview: Our annual event where we highlight health policy work at Baylor College of Medicine and discuss contemporary challenges in health policy that impact our community. This year, we hope to have candid conversations about how to engage in productive discussion around controversial topics and promote respectful discourse in the face of disagreement. We will also have a poster session from Baylor students.

Virtual Poster Session


Eligibility: BCM faculty, staff and/or students conducting health/science policy research; note all HPP and MEP/HPP graduates are required to submit an abstract for HP Research Day. It’s optional for the MEP grads.

Evaluation Criteria: A committee will evaluate abstract submissions based on their alignment to the theme and mission of our program and we will notify entrants if they are approved to submit their poster.

Format: Please submit ONLY your abstract (250 words max). If you are selected you will then receive further instructions for uploading your poster and 3-5 minute accompanying narration via VoiceThread.

Abstract Submission Details:

  1. Enter poster title
  2. Include all authors' names
  3. Enter the text of your abstract (maximum 250 words; can be structured or unstructured)

Abstract Submission Deadline: April 22, 2024
Participants will receive notification of acceptance via e-mail on a rolling basis (by May 1, 2024 at the latest), posters and accompanying audio will need to be submitted by May 7, 2024 (upload details will be provided with confirmation of acceptance).
