In 2012, the Dan L Duncan Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) was established to enhance Baylor College of Medicine’s Research Mission to maintain a research environment that fosters innovation and collaboration and improves healthcare.

We provide a learning environment that integrates data from diverse domains, including the electronic medical record, geospatial and social information, and next-generation technologies to aid researchers in their journey across the translational spectrum. We interface with Baylor’s Sponsored Programs, Advanced Technology Cores, Center for Comparative Medicine, BCM Ventures, Office of Research, Offices of IT and Research IT, and training programs to support enduring basic, clinical, and translational research.

As director, my vision is to create an environment that translates biomedical research data into interventions that improve healthcare through service and resources, education and training, and community engagement. Our mission is to help investigators discover, develop, and implement new approaches to patient care. I invite you to join the ICTR and begin your journey toward positively impacting our community.
