The Texas D-CFAR hosts research conferences and education opportunities that will foster collaborations and lead to cutting-edge impactful HIV research that supports ending the HIV epidemic in the U.S. South and beyond. All Texas D-CFAR members will be invited to these research presentations which will be live-streamed via Zoom software to all members.

HIV Research Group Meeting: Presentations by PIs, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students of ongoing basic science research. Summaries of research presented at national and international conferences. Weekly at Baylor College of Medicine, some sessions at Texas Biomedical Research Institute.
AIDS Research Forum: Presentations of basic science, clinical, translational, and health services research. Every two weeks at Baylor College of Medicine, some sessions at Texas Biomedical Research Institute.
Leaders in HIV Research: Presentations by prominent external HIV basic science or clinical researchers, especially from those supporting our Texas D-CFAR theme, “Ending HIV and Optimizing HIV Health in Texas.” Time is reserved for these HIV leaders to meet trainees for networking and career development. Two-four seminars annually at Baylor College of Medicine.
Workshops in HIV: A series of HIV workshops to increase foundational knowledge and encourage multi-disciplinary research, led by HIV topic-area experts. Six workshops annually, each consisting of one hour per week for four weeks.

Annual Texas D-CFAR Conference: Regional HIV researchers meet to present their HIV research, interact with other Texas D-CFAR members, and develop new collaborations. The conference is open to Texas D-CFAR members – including affiliate members from institutions across the state. Community members are also invited. HIV clinical research, basic science research, and substance use research are key themes of this annual two-day conference.
