The Baylor/Rice Genome Editing Testing Center (GETC) offers researchers in vivo evaluation of genome editing activity, biodistribution and efficacy in mouse models as a fee-for-service.
About the Center
Our center aims to provide researchers with the services and expertise necessary to take novel genome editing approaches from the bench into animal models. We focus on the mouse as a model organism or the development of new technologies and preclinical testing of gene editing therapies. The center leverages the expertise of its members in the evaluation of in vivo genome editing, developed in part through participation in NIH’s Somatic Cell Genome Editing (SCGE) initiative.
Baylor, together with Rice University, offers extensive resources dedicated to the molecular and phenotypic characterization of mouse models through its hosting of its Center for Precision Medicine Models, and participation in the Knockout Mouse Project.
Services Offered
The GETC operates two tracks for the in vivo testing of genome editing in mice:
Reporter Model Testing
Use Reporter Model Testing for evaluating genome editing delivery and efficiency in vivo.
Disease Model Testing
Use Disease Model Testing to initiate preclinical evaluation of therapeutic approaches based on genome editing.
