As part of the Baylor Medicine Sleep Center team, our experienced otolaryngologists focus on the surgical treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Our surgeons utilize minimally invasive or non-invasive evaluation techniques to identify obstructive tissues and structures contributing to sleep apnea. For patients who have certain anatomical problems or who have not found relief from lifestyle modifications or other treatments such as continuous positive airway pressure or CPAP, surgical intervention may be appropriate.
If left untreated, OSA can cause chronic fatigue leading to decreased productivity at work, decreased functionality, and diminished quality of life. Long term, poor sleep quality also leads to increased risk for stroke and heart attack. Our sleep surgeons take pride in helping patients rest a little easier by restoring healthy sleep patterns.
