Student Health Insurance Program
Student wellness is essential to academic progress at Baylor College of Medicine. To support this philosophy, Baylor maintains the Student Health Insurance Plan.
For students enrolled in the BCM student health insurance plan through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, our partner, Academic HealthPlans is available to help you find doctors, facilities and other services to best meet your healthcare needs. You can reach AHP from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday at 855-856-4117.
BCM Telehealth Resources via Academic Live Care (ALC)
All BCM students have access to BCM Telehealth Resources by Academic Live Care (ALC). ALC provides 24/7 access to telehealth services to include care for urgent medical needs (e.g., cough, cold, allergies) and medication management. Services are at no cost to BCM students. Students also have access to self-help resources to support physical health (e.g., sleep hygiene, nutrition, weight management).

Vitality is an interactive and personalized wellness program that makes it easy for you to live your healthiest life. Vitality serves as our incentive based platform where students are able to earn points by participating BCM LIFE programming, activities ranging from going to the gym to going to the dentist as well as engaging with the program online through a variety of education modules covering everything from positive thinking to maintaining a healthy diet. Baylor College of Medicine's on-campus gym (Baylor login required) provides a convenient place to fit in exercise around your busy schedule. Discounts (Baylor login required) are also available for students to join local fitness centers.
Walk, Run, Spin for a Cause
Get healthy while helping others! Baylor students, faculty and staff organize and participate in fundraising events throughout the year.
Organized by students, the Annual BCM Wellness 5K Race/Walk supports physical wellness as well as social through providing opportunities for everyone in the Baylor community to come together and raise funds for good causes.
