Baylor College of Medicine is a health sciences university that creates knowledge and applies science and discoveries to further education, healthcare and community service locally and globally. Baylor began its summer administrative internship program in June 2014 and has provided students the opportunity to enhance their personal development as well as their understanding of Baylor and its affiliated clinical and academic partners.
Administrative Internship Program
The Administrative Internship Program is an eight-week internship that provides exposure to the administrative roles that support the clinical, research and education missions of the institution. This program is open to graduate and undergraduate students.
Each department will contribute to the education and learning enhancement by developing goals and projects specific to the intern’s needs. There will be additional learning opportunities offered by speakers from different areas of Baylor College of Medicine.
Please note that this internship is not structured to provide opportunities to shadow clinical physicians or conduct research in a wet lab environment.
The official program dates are June 10 – August 2. We will provide learning opportunities outside of the host department during this time. The mode of internship location (onsite, hybrid, virtual) will be contingent on BCM safety guidelines at the time of the program. Baylor College of Medicine requires employees to be fully vaccinated -subject to approved exemptions-against vaccine-preventable diseases including, but not limited to, COVID-19 and influenza. BCM also requires compliance with any masking guidelines set by the college at the time of the internship.
The internship is unpaid and does not include housing. Selected participants are responsible for securing their own housing and transportation. There is a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. Departments will pay for your parking during the duration of the internship
